A Successful Attempt Of Combining Traditional Culture With Reality Television Show A Study On "The Greatest Love"

This paper will analyze the show "The Greatest Love"by means of content analysis,literature research and case study,and compare it with the similar show "Travel with Parents"by comparative research.Through studying the communication characteristics of the filial culture and the communication effect of the show,the paper has raised consideration on the show.The paper is composed of four parts,among which the first chapter is the introduction including the significance and purpose of the paper,the current research status at home and abroad,as well as the research methods.In the second chapter,the communication characteristics of the filial culture demonstrated in the show will be analyzed from four aspects:filial culture positioning,value representation,communication creativity and symbolic characteristics.Thus,the third chapter is introduced,in which the communication effect of the show will be analyzed from social and economic benefits respectively.In the forth chapter,shortcomings arising from the process of communication will be analyzed and related suggestions will be put forward for further improvement.In this way,other similar shows can learn from it and pursue sustainable development.During the research,it is found that the show applies new ways of communication to express traditional Chinese culture.Therefore,it not only conveys the filial consciousness to the audience,but also carries forward the socialist values and obtain a wide range of social effects.At the same time,The Greatest Love,with its lofty connotation and dedicate production,has been adored by many audience,which realizes the win-win cooperation among production team,media partners and sponsors.Consequently,the show produces a rich harvest of both social and economic benefits.
