Holographic antenna is a new type of caliber antenna based on holographic technology,which regulates the electromagnetic waves on the aperture surface to obtain the desired radiation characteristics.The design of holographic impedance surface antenna has the advantages of low profile,high gain and easy conformal integration,and has wide application prospect in wireless communication and radar system.This paper mainly studies the design of planar integrated holographic impedance surface antenna with low profile.For the traditional holographic impedance surface antenna with monopole antenna as surface wave feed,the main lobe of its far field radiation field will produce some distortion,the so-called lobe splitting phenomenon.In this paper,the reason of the lobe splitting phenomenon is analyzed by the method of splitting and reconstructing the holographic impedance surface structure,and a new impedance surface design method is proposed to eliminate the lobe splitting at the center frequency of the antenna.Furthermore,in order to reduce the profile of the antenna and improve the integration of the antenna,a new surface wave feed is designed for the holographic impedance surface using the substrate integrated waveguide technology,which realizes the complete planar integration of the holographic impedance surface antenna.The new antenna not only eliminates the lobe splitting in the far range radiation field in the whole frequency band,but also improves the aperture efficiency of the antenna.In addition,for the surface wave feed antenna,the introduction of the artificial electromagnetic surface also improves itself of the radiation gain,achieve the antenna beam pointing to the precise control.Around the plane integrated holographic antenna design of this theme,the main contents of this paper are as follows:1)The theory and realization of holographic impedance surface antenna based on artificial electromagnetic surface are studied.By analyzing the phase characteristics of the surface of the holographic impedance,the reason why the holographic leaky wave antenna with the monopole antenna as the surface wave source would cause the lobe splitting phenomenon in the far field radiation field is explained.Then a new impedance surface design method is proposed,which eliminates the lobe splitting of the antenna at a specific design frequency.2)Through reasonable choice and the improvement of feed structure,a new surface wave of holographic impedance surface is realized by replacing the monopole antenna with better directional and lower plane end-emitting antenna for the holographic impedance surface,and the optimal design method of the radiation characteristics of the new feed structure is studied.3)Based on the design of the new surface wave feed structure as the surface wave feed of the holographic impedance surface,a fully planar integrated holographic impedance surface antenna is designed and implemented,that is,the planar integrated holographic antenna.The planar integrated holographic antenna not only overcomes the lobe splitting problem of the holographic impedance surface antenna with the monopole antenna as the surface wave feed,the aperture efficiency of the antenna is improved by at least one time,and the beam of the holographic impedance surface antenna is realized scanning characteristics.
