With the rapid development of communication technology, there are many new technical ways. At the same time, it also brings many new challenges, Such as, the deterioration of electromagnetic enviroment, the mutual coupling of antenna, the problems of channel capacity. So it requires new form of antenna, which can meet the requirements of communication that we are currently facing. for example, for the beautiful appearance of the urban construction, the antenna must realize low profile as much as possible, the simple feeding structure, and easy conformal to buildings. In the military field, no matter the plane, ship, or missiles, we need to take the electromagnetic stealth performace into consideration and reduce RCS. Fortunately, holographic impedance modulation surface antenna not only has a low profile, easy conformal, but also can guide the propagation of electromagnetic wave, and control the surface wave propagation. So, it has caused the high attention of scientist to do so many researches in the whole world.In this paper, after studying to master the basic principle of optical holography, and with a large number of research of domestic and foreign microwave holography, I thoroughly analyze on holographic impedance modulation surface antenna. I focus on the hot topic of scientific research, for example, the microwave holographic principle, artificial electromagnetic materials, surface impedance modulation leaky-wave antenna etc. And I stand on the shoulders of Sievenpiper. Dan; Patel. A; Minatti. G. and other foreign scientists, who are the pioneer in the field of holographic impedance modulation surface antenna. Now I focus on the surface wave excitation, defect principle of impedance modulation, the holographic impedance modulation surface conformal antenna, and other aspects of the work.This paper adopts the Ansoft HFSS 14.0 eigenmode solver, analyzes holographic impedance modulation quasi-periodic surface structure, and extract the surface impdance value. Also, I use the equivalent circuit model to analyze the holographic impedance modulation surface. The working principle of surface wave and leaky wave antenna is analyzed in detail, thus I put forward using the quasi Yagi-Uda to excite the surface wave, then feed the holographic impedance modulation surface antnena. At the same time, I put forward the modified modulation principle on holographic impedance modulation surface antenna. Finally, I deduced the formula of holographic impedance modulation on cylindrical conformal and conical conformal antenna.The main results in this paper in the research of holographic impedance modulation surface antenna are as follows:First of all, I comprehensively summarize the existing three kinds of surface impedace extraction methods for the first time in China.Secondly, I put forward the optimization principle of impedance modulation on holographic impedace modulation surface antenna for the first time.Once again, I use quasi Yagi-Uda antenna to feed on holographic impedance modulation surface antenna.Then, I realize the holographic impedance modulation surface cylindrical conformal antenna in China.Finally, I realize the holographic impedance modulation surface conical conformal antenna for the first time.
