With the high speed development of Internet technology,the demand for high speed and high capacity communication network is improving,the field of integrated optics has gained wide attention.Due to its compact structure,low cost and high integration of the microring resonator has become an important component in the field of integrated optics research.Using the microring resonator to design optical filter,Wavelength division multiplexer,Waveguide sensor which playing an important role in the optical communication network.The filter performance of microring resonator is studied in this paper,the working principle of microring resonator,the analysis method of microring filter and the design technique of microring assist Mach-Zehnder Interferometer with the transimssion characteristics are studied.Research content and main results of this paper as follows:(1)The development history of microring resonator and the research status of domestic and foreign research were summarized.The all-pass microring filter was analyzed used the signal flow graph method in detail which lays the foundation to analysis and design microring filter.(2)The design method of microring filter was studied in this section,the output spectra of the filter which comprise with series and parallel microring resonator and the impact of structural parameters were analyzed in detail.A improved microring filter with cross bus was proposed as well.(3)In order to improve the transmission performance of conventional Mach-Zehnder Interferometer(MZI),two microring assist MZI filter and microring applied to MZI were proposed.Based on the phase modification provided by the microring and optimized structural parameter the improved filter can give rectangular waves and the rolloff in transition band were strengthened.
