Research Of The Availability Of Mobile Augmented Reality In The Museum Display

Augmented Reality(AR)is a technology,seamlessly integrating virtual information and real-world scenes,which is used to provide the users additional environment information that cannot be perceived by them under the same timeline and space.With the rapid development of network technology and mobile devices,we are no longer limited to fixed setting or additional equipment.This technology now has been realized by using the more convenient,efficient and popular mobile terminals(smartphones,tablets,etc.)and widely used in the field of medical,tourism,military as well as historic preservation.By analyzing the features of Mobile Augmented Reality technology and other technical methods,based on the display requirement of Hunan Provincial Museum Mawangdui that having a large number of archaeological finds with close special connection and cultural association but showed separately,the essay proposed a use of mobile app along with the application of AR technology that will enhance the display effect of the relics show.This application first captures real scene and detects features,then loads the 3D structure or animation after building the real word coordinate system from the data obtained before.Through the real-time rendering,we are able to argument archaeological features onto the real word scene,enabling the audience to get much realer and richer museum experience.This project has achieved impressive results on a scaled down model test,proving mobile AR tech a feasible solution for the display of Hunan Provincial Museum Mawangdui.
