Terrain Rendering is also named after terrain visualization,which mainly studies display,simplifying and simulation of the digital model.And real-time rendering of dynamic terrain is a focus point in the real-time rendering field.It has been widely used in areas such as battlefield environment simulation,3D games,flight training,geographic information systems and virtual reality and so on.It focuses on the research of building dynamically,updating,rendering and how to realize the dynamic terrain deformation with efficient processing method.Based on digital elevation model as a data source,this paper first analysis Geometry Clipmaps algorithm and Material Point Method,focusing on studying the way to shear,related technology and particles motion and deformation.And the paper expounds their respective advantages.Then,in terms of the contradiction between the real-time and fidelity of the dynamic terrain rendering,the Geometry Clipmaps algorithm has been extended to be proposed with the combination of Geometry Clipmaps algorithm with Material Point Method.By using this improved GMCR algorithm,making it suitable for real-time rendering of dynamic terrain.In order to study the deformation of the crater,combining with the relevant theory of Dynamics theory to set up crater model.A geometry clipmap particle division method based on GMCR is proposed,combined with the material point method.In view of the problem that the coordinate information are not accurate enough in the process of geometry clipmap updating,a geometry clipmap particle update method based on GMCR is proposed,which is suitable for updating the deformation layer.Finally,the physical model of the crater is used as the object of study to realize by GPU.Compared with Geometry Clipmaps,the GMCR satisfies the requirements of high realism and real time,and the experimental result conforms to the objective laws basically,which is reflected in the triangle numbers,frame frequency,CPU utilization ratio,rendering effect,time and the fidelity.
