With the development of the technology of a new generation mobile communication,the persuit of high quality streaming media data of people is getting higher and higher,which makes requests for higher data rates,high spectrum utilization and lower delay.MIMO-OFDM,as the current mainstream technology of the 4th generation communication system,will also be applied to the 5th generation communication system,which makes it still a research hotspot in the fields of communication.OFDM is capable of making full use of spectrum resources,transmitting high-speed data,and confronting against frequency selective fading.While MIMO is capable of making full use of space resources,improving the system capacity and efficiency of spectrum utilization.However,OFDM,which uses multi-carrier modulation technology,is very sensitive to the offsets or the deviation of symbol timing and carrier frequency.The inter-symbol interference and inter-carrier interference caused by them will have a very bad influence on the system performance.Due to the use of multi-antenna technology,ITD and ITFO are lead into MIMO system.Compared with SISO System,the synchronization technology of MIMO system is more complicated.What mentioned aboved makes it very important to do the research on the synchronization technology of MIMO-OFDM.Firstly,this thesis briefly introduces the general situation of MIMO-OFDM technology,then the research status,the background and the significance.Then,this thesis introduces the principle of MIMO-OFDM system,derives and analyzes the influence of symbol timing error and carrier frequency offset on its performance.Secondly,this thesis compares and analyzes the non-data-assisted synchronization algorithm with data-based synchronization algorithm aiming at SISO-OFDM.The former one is mainly about the algorithm based on cp,and the latter on mainly includes the S&C algorithm,Minn algorithm,Park algorithm.Next,combining with MIMO,this thesis simulates,compares,and analyses the synchronization algorithm of MIMO-OFDM system,which mainly includes Mody algorithm,Schenk algorithm,Zhou En algorithm and WY algorithm simulation,comparison and analysis.The result of simulation shows that WY algorithm has a better performance in the circumstances defined in this thesis.Finally,this thesis based on FPGA platform presents a hardware design scheme,and uses the Verilog HDL language to implement the core of WY algorithm on XC7K225 T.Then,verify the validity of the design function on Modelsim.
