In recent years,with the popularization of cloud computing services and application of new technology,the data center is facing significant changes,a large amount of communication is required between servers or virtual machines in the data center network(Data Center Network,DCN),causing sharp increase in the internal flow of data center with new characteristics different from the Internet traffic.Therefore,it has become a serious problem regarding how to schedule the communication traffic of these data centers and ensure the load balance of various resources within the data center.Researches on the load balancing technology of traffic have become the key to enhance the performance of the DCN.The load balancing technology of DCN focuses on bandwidth sensitive data flow.Traditional ECMP(Equal-Cost MultiPath)-based load balancing methods guarantee the balance of utilization rate of different paths in the network by uniformly distributing these data flows to different transmission paths.However,the traditional ECMP-based load balancing method can not solve the problem of elephant flow collision well.Firstly,this paper introduces the DCN architecture that is based on port addressing currently,including address coding method,routing algorithm and fault tolerant algorithm and described the advantages of this architecture in detail.Secondly,with the DCN architecture that is based on port addressing as the support,starting from the network layer,from the angle of traffic engineering,in order to solve various bottlenecks of the current load balancing methods of DCN and better deal with the problem of large flow collision,this paper proposes a virtual slice load balancing method(Virtual Slice Load Balance,VSLB)based on Fat-Tree,and introduces the method design and implementation process of VSLB.In addition,in terms of processing large flow of VSLB,this paper proposes a path optimization method(Load Balance Optimal Path,LBOP)based on port addressing to enhance the performance of VSLB.Finally,in order to verify the feasibility and efficiency of VSLB,this paper sets up an experimental environment with OMNET++ network simulation software as the basic experimental platform,and compares it with the load balancing method based on the idea of ECMP.By simulating and comparing the different communication patterns of DCN,under the DCN architecture that is based on port addressing,the experimental results show that the proposed virtual slice load balancing method based on Fat-Tree can greatly reduce the congestion of DCN,improve the network throughput,while reducing the small flow completion time and end-to-end delay of the data package,and is able to favorably play the role of load balancing.
