Since the 1960s, the technology of computer network has had a great change. Nowadays, large Internet companies like Baidu, Alibaba, and Tencent have built huge data centers in the country. Cluster network facilities and network switches use virtualization techniques to make full use of the data centers’cloud servers’cluster resources, processor resources, memory and disk resources to carry on computing and storage services. The data centers generate huge network traffic every time. How to schedule the network traffic in the data centers and how to ensure the load balance of all kinds of resources in the centers have become such big problems nowadays. The problem of existing data center load balancing can be divided into two categories, one is the single controller network load balancing, the other is the multi-controller network load balancing. The multi-controller load balancing can be divided into three cases, the first one is the load balancing between the controllers, the second one is the load balancing between the switches, and the third one is the load balancing of the total network. In this paper, the fat-tree topology is used for the data center network. To deal with the single controller network load balancing problem, this article proposed a dynamic sub-topology load balancing method(DCLB) based on the existing dynamic load balancing method. This method can effectively solve the problems of the existing methods. On the basis of the load balancing algorithm for single controller, a network architecture is proposed to deal with the multi-controller case and an algorithm of load balancing for multiple controllers (MDCLB) is proposed accordingly. The DCLB and MDCLB algorithms have been tested in the simulation environment and the result of the simulation has proved that the DCLB and MDCLB have good performance on load balancing in the data center network.
