In recent years,as the ocean becomes the national strategic resource, the study of solid modeling and battlefield simulation of naval warfare has received more and more attention. The virtual reality technique has been more and more important in simulating naval combat environment.Large-scale realistic three-dimensional naval battle scene can not only improve the authenticity of naval battle, but also can improve the user's visual enjoyment. To satisfy the demand of virtual naval battle environment, the study is carried out around the detail and scale of ocean scene.Firstly, the paper introduces the technique of wave reconstruction from videos, and then generates large-scale scenes with the constructed three-dimensional wave meshes. Then, the image reconstruction technique is used to reconstruct the ship stern wave. Finally, the large-scale waves and the ship stern wave are merged together. The main contents of the paper include:1.Three-dimensional wave reconstruction from videosThe method is based on the SFS method to calculates the height field of waves from the video image, generate the wave grid model, and then use the height field to calculate the normal and velocity field of the wave surface, and finally generate the three-dimensional model.2.Large-scale three-dimensional wave generation techniqueDue to the effects of the video size and resolution, the paper proposes a new wave-splicing method base on moving least squares method, which is to merge the mesh points and make the fusion smoother. The method can not only ensure the overall visual effect of the wave scene, but realize the large-scale wave scene.3.Three-dimensional reconstruction of ship stern waveWhen the video location is far and the angle is inclined, the results of reconstructed waves will not be satisfied and the details are less rich.In order to improve the visual fidelity, the method of image reconstruction is used to solve the problem. Finally, the large-scale waves and the ship stern wave are merged to enhance the interactivity of the ocean scene.4.Accelerated computation of three-dimensional naval battle sceneIn the process of three-dimensional reconstruction and mesh stitching, there are many vertices and data.So it is difficult to ensure real-time requirements. Therefore, this paper uses CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture)to accelerate the calculation of vertex data, and finally to ensure large-scale real-time display of ocean scenes. In this paper, the techniques of three-dimensional mesh stitching and image reconstruction are used realize the large-scale three-dimensional naval warfare environment. The results have a good balance between detail and scale, which has important significance and practical value in the actual ocean combat simulation.
