Social Media is an internet platform for people to communicate with each other.The emergence of social media enables people to realize their social interaction with the help of the media. In the later social development, it continuously plays its unique function and charm, attracts more and more users to use, also unceasingly expands the social influence. In 2004, Zuckerberg established Facebook website in the United States,which became popular quickly, then swept the world.Development up to now, Facebook has 1.55 billion users worldwide. China's social media developed slow, until the 2009 Microblog appeared. According to a report by the Microblog earnings in the fourth quarter of 2015, monthly active users reached 236 million.At present, domestic and foreign research on the use and satisfaction of social media is still stuck on a single research object, resulting in a lack of horizontal comparison of results.In this paper, Facebook and Microblog are regarded as the research objects.According to related discussion of “use and gratification theory”, from Facebook and Microblog user's motivation?behavior and satisfaction of launched questionnaire survey and analysis,understand and master the specific use and satisfy circumstances of Facebook and Microblog users, investigate Microblog and Facebook extent to meet the various needs of users. And tries to analyze the social media users different behavior and performance under different cultural background, with the perspective and the theory of cross-cultural to explain major differences of Facebook and Microblog users in the using process, at the same time learn from the successful experience of Facebook to improve and perfect Microblog, offer better service for the users.The introduction of cultural factors into the use of social media research, to explore the similarities and differences between Chinese and American social media users in the context of cultural differences is the innovation of this paper.The paper is divided into four parts, the main contents are as follows:Chapter one, generally introduct the research background and research purpose, the reason of choosing the research object, explain the research methods of the subjectand read the relevant literature. Chapter two, sort out the development situation of Microblog and Facebook, including Microblog and Facebook's development?function and usage. Chapter there, Results and analysis, compare micro-blog and Facebook users' use behavior, motivation and satisfaction. Draw the similarities and differences between them, and analyze the causes of the similarities and differences from the perspective of cross culture. Chapter four, Conclusion and suggestion.
