With the constant emerging and developing of new technologies, such as Cloud computing, traditional information technology is facing some challenges and opportunities, the traditional archive management system is one system that is included. Nowadays, archive management system acts as an important information system in enterprises for managing archives, like other traditional information systems which expose many problems in the process of their own developments and need improvements. Some problems like how to manage diversification of archive data, enterprises need to focus on their core business, and how to handle archive data which increases rapidly and so on. These problems can be solved by involving new information technology.The primary achievements completed in the thesis as below,(1) Deeply analyzed requirement for internal IT environment of enterprise and archive management system. Based on the analysis and took a full consideration to the needs of flexibility, versatility and high availability, the B/S architecture design principle as the system architecture was determined. Designed hybrid cloud based architecture of archive management information system, including design and implementation of core modules, table structure of Archive database and so on.(2) Based on Microsoft Azure public cloud platform, we used Azure Roles, SQL Azure and Azure Storage Service to construct sub-systems of hybrid cloud based archive management information system and realized in data transport from public cloud to private cloud.(3) Based on Lucene.Net and AzureDirectory library package to realize functions of indexing or searching data which is structured data in SQL Azure and unstructured data in Azure Storage BLOB that increased flexibility and usability of system by providing varieties of searching requirements.(4) Based on Windows server clustering technology, SQL Server AlwaysOn and Hyper-V to build up private cloud platform. Designed and constructed sub-system of hybrid cloud based archive management information system in private cloud platform and realized in storing sensitive data.The hybrid cloud based archive management information system in this thesis is being used in China Minmetals Corporation and its subsidiaries. Comparing with traditional archive management information system, hybrid cloud based archive management information system not only fulfills traditional requirement, such as inputting, modifying, searching, reviewing, and destroying archives, but also fulfills some specific requirements like making full use of idle IT resources and protecting sensitive data. This project will give enterprise a very good reference for subsequent systems to be migrated to Windows Azure or Hybrid Cloud.
