The technology of ID number recognition has a huge economic value,and it has a very strongly background in application,such as government departments,hotel check-in and so on.Although everyone's ID consists of 18 numbers,there are 10 different numbers.The image to be recognized is related to the environment,equipment and other factors,so the ID number recognition system should be robust.For users,we hope that the recognition rate is 100%,and the ID number recognition system should also have the advantages of interface friendly,operation simply,etc.Firstly,this paper introduces the background of the technology of ID number recognition and the significance of the research.Secondly,this paper discusses the preprocessing of ID number recognition system,which includes binarization,denoising,segmentation and positioning,etc.Also discussing how to select the threshold appropriately on binarization,how to denoise on the image and on the basis of mathematical morphology,the algorithm of image thinning and segmentation are discussed at the same time.At last,two methods of image recognition are described,which are structural method and statistical method.On the basis of the statistical method,a new improved method based on the degree sequence is proposed,which is based on the characteristics of the ID numbers.Firstly,according to the concept of degree sequences,a single number can be thought of as a simple graph.Secondly,setting a 3×3 template and its elements are 1.We let center point of the template coincide with the point where the pixel value is 1,with a given template and the pixel in 8-neighbour of all the points to do the logic "and" operation,calculating the result of the template,so the degree numbers of the point can be obtained.Thirdly,we use Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 version of the MFC platform and C/C++ language program to design interface,implement algorithm,finally the computer screen displays the ID number recognition results.The experimental results show that by using this method,the recognition rate of ID number is above 88%,which has certain application.The new method that invariant-degree sequence is generated by the original image data based on computer software.It does not need to store the entire ID card image,thus it reduces the storage space of the computer greatly and protects the privacy of individuals.
