As one of the important branches of signal processing,array signal processing mainly focuses on spatial spectrum estimation and spatial filtering.These technologies can improve the performance of antenna array,so they have a great potential to be further applied.Besides,array architecture plays an important role in processing signal.Owing to the good symmetry,uniform circular array is capable of providing same signal processing in all dimensions.This paper aims to study DOA estimation algorithm based on UCA and beamforming technique.The main contents are as follows:In chapter one,the author summarizes the history and development of array signal processing technologies,such as DOA estimation algorithm and beamforming technique.In chapter two,the author introduces some common array architecture models of DOA estimation algorithm,and then analyzes several simple DOA estimation methods and common assumptions.Finally,the author gives a detailed analysis of two classical subspace-based DOA estimation algorithms and compares their performance by the results of MATLAB simulation.In chapter three,the author studies the processing methods of traditional subspace-based DOA estimation algorithms in UCA and analyzes the results of MATLAB simulation;at the end of this chapter,the author introduces a new DOA estimation algorithm based on extra vector and the results from MATLAB indicates that the new algorithm is superior to the algorithms before improvement,moreover,as the units increases,the new algorithm will be better than MUSIC algorithm.In chapter four,the author introduces common array architecture models of beamforming and contrasts uniform linear array with uniform circular array and omnidirectional array element with directional array element by simulation.After careful consideration,the author designs a directional array element which meets the requirement,then fitting this pattern of the array element by MATLAB and getting array pattern which makes use of the directional array element.Finally,according to the research of the directional diagram mentioned above,the author designs an array composed of three-layer circular array,and finds that with the application of the array element mentioned above,this array pattern has good performance in hemispherical coverage by simulation.
