Personal Time Management Software Design Based On Information Communication Model

Under the information age,young white-collars and university students are confronted with problems of stress and time management.Combining theoretical study and the use of goal-oriented design method,this paper provides a software design which inline with the fourth generation of time management concept.In the section of theory study,this paper works on three aspects.1)Introduces the "information communication theory" which connects findings from disciplines of management and cognitive psychology;2)Through literature research and case study,a model of time management system in which users,software and environment are involved was eventually established;3)Influences of perpetrator's mental state and environmental factors on time management process were analysed.Three potential features,namely monitoring,cognition guidance and carding information of the software are generalized.Results of this section provide theoretical support for software design.In the design research phase,goal-directed design method was adopted to study following contents: 1)Through market research,the advantages and disadvantages of existing time management software were analysed;2)Behavior patterns of young white-collars and university students were observed through interview;3)Personas and scenario script were built for collecting potential user needs.These findings provide direction and specific goals for the software design.In the design practice stage,2 main achievements are stated.1)A time management software design which gives prominence to guiding cognition and information precipitation was provide;2)Finally,with user test by a high-fidelity prototype,user experience of the software and the validity of the research findings were evaluated.Through the efforts of the project team,coding of design results have been completed and software was released in the application market.The application enriches the types of time management software and provides a reference for the innovative design of related software.
