With the widespread development of infrared detection application at present,the traditional infrared detection technology has not been able to meet the needs of detection demand in the fog,dust,camouflage and other complex environment.Research and experiments prove that technology of infrared polarization detection can solve the problem effectively.The research of infrared polarization imaging technology is significant.The research of infrared polarization imaging technology is mainly study on imaging characteristics and imaging application.In this paper,we do the research on infrared polarization imaging of long wave infrared.Based on application system of infrared imaging and according to the principle of infrared polarization imaging,this paper has developed system of infrared polarization imaging.Effective information of infrared imaging and polarization imaging is picked up.According to the characteristics of infrared imaging,image fusion method is selected.With this software of Matlab,the simulated image is used to study imaging characteristics of infrared polarization.According to the characteristics of infrared polarization imaging,procedures of suitable image fusion algorithm are to: the bilateral filtering method is used for filtering clutter and enhancing the image details;multiscale image fusion methods based on retinex-theory can eliminate the effect of noise and restore the primary image;weighted average of image fusion rules been adopted to fuse by the image;nonlinear gray-scale transformation finish is adopted.Through the evaluation of the simulation fusion image,it can be proved that the image fusion algorithm can enhance the image details and enhance the image contrast,which can meet the needs of infrared polarization imaging system better.Infrared polarization image fusion simulation results show: the infrared polarization information in the metal detection and false detection has strong detection capability,able to detect metal objects in more detail,can through the security net to detect more target information,but the infrared polarization information is affected by water mist interference.In this paper,based on long wave infrared polarization imaging technology research,it is proved that the infrared polarization imaging system process executable and can detect and discover the characteristics of infrared polarization imaging.These are the basis for the real-time application and engineering application of the infrared polarization imaging system later.
