Short circuit test is one of the most important test items in low-voltage switchgear test.The short circuit in electrical system could lead to many severe results.For example the electric arc could damage electric device,the low voltage would influence load quality and damage the power system,and zero sequence current could influence the communication line and result in personal injury.The theory of design and development of short circuit test control system in this paper is proposed according by short circuit test standard and the actual situation of the test center.In this system the upper computer is made by IPC(Industrial Personal Computer)and the lower computer is made by PLC.Several outcomes could be achieved by this system.The test center would have the international advanced test equipment and the ability of international competition and the influence in same industry and the considerable profit.The upper computer software is developed by Kingview software and could fulfill the real-time test control in test site.The PLC control program is designed through STL and LAD language in SWOPCFXGP/WIN-C software platform.The coordination of upper computer and lower computer could lead to several outcomes.The test could be controlled reliably by tester.The closing /breaking control and test duration frequency could be chose and set easily.The protection blocking and warning signal could be achieved according to abnormal information.
