The network what we are using is using the Ethernet?TCP/IP system which has two address and a variety of control protocol. With the development of the Internet, the dimensions of today's network shows a geometric growth. The system becomes complicated and bloated. In order to solve the problems of the current TCP / IP architecture,Stanford University Professor Nick McKeown proposed a new network architecture, software defined network(SDN).SDN will separates the control planes and data planes on different hardware platforms, thus the new network architecture will provide greater flexibility. In this paper,we mainly study the management of data center in the software defined network.First of all, this paper introduces the background of SDN,some common network topologies and network protocols.Next, this paper will describe the details of SDN controller and how we design a datacenter management platform. At last,we built existing protocols Open shortest path first(OSPF)and Equal-cost multi-path(ECMP)with POX,which is a widely used SDN controller,we designed a new load-balancing protocol to overcome the shortages of previous two protocols and run simulations to evaluate their performance.
