With the rapid development of computer technology, image processing becomes a new and extensive application field which related to multidisciplinary infiltration. In recent years, due to daily application of images, the research focus of digital image field hasgradually transferred toimage restoration technology. Motion blurred image restoration has been widely used in many fields. Although the technology is relatively complex, it has great practical significance, so it attracts a lot of attention of experts at home and abroad. However, the calculation of restoration algorithm proposed by some researchers is relatively cumbersome andcomplex, andthere are contradictions between the preservation of image details and the full recovery of artifacts. In this paper, an improved Lucy-Richardson restoration algorithm is proposed based on the comprehensive understanding and analysis of the achievements of previous researchers and the advantages of various methods. Firstly, the development and significance of the motion blurred image restoration technology in domestic and abroad are discussed, and the theoretical foundation of the related image restoration technology is introduced. Secondly, the degradation mechanism of motion blurred image and the working principle of classic restoration algorithm are described. The advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm are evaluated from the subjective and objective aspects. Then, an improved method of automatic estimation is proposed to solve the problem that the K value cannot be estimated accurately in the Wiener filtering method. The improved K-value estimation algorithm can accurately estimate the K value and improve the quality of the restored image. At last, the Lucy-Richardson algorithm is analyzed in this paper. Through simulation experiments, it is found that the Lucy-Richardson algorithm exposes a large defect. With the increasing of the Itimes of iterations, the noise of the image becomes more and more serious, and thetime of iterations is not clearbasically. These problemslimited the application of Lucy-Richardson algorithm. In order to solve these problems, the improved algorithm works as follows: firstly preprocesses the blurred image by Gaussian filter to suppress the ringing effect, and then adds the coefficient term in the iterative formula to restrain the restoration image. For the problem that the iterative times can not be estimated accurately, the optimum range of iteration times is determined by the large step size, and the exact value is determined by the small step size. Finally, the improved Lucy-Richardson algorithm is simulated by Matlab. The results of the simulation experiment are evaluated from both subjective and objective aspects. The evaluation parameters prove that the algorithm is more effective.
