At the end of nineteenth Century, the concept of "Internet of things" proposed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has been paid more and more attention by governments, enterprises and academic circles in the world. Things can make the traditional non networked devices connected to the Internet through the sensor, the realization of information distributed acquisition and centralized management has been widely applied to various industries, the traditional industries of information, automation and intelligence, and reduce human input, improve the production efficiency. High voltage power grid wide geographic distribution, in order to strengthen the information management level of the power grid, to ensure the safety of the grid stable and efficient operation of the power infrastructure are increasingly combined with the networking technology of power grid construction centralized monitoring and management, combined with intelligent substation and networking technology have emerged in this context. This paper focuses on the application of the Internet of things in the smart substation system, the research and application of the Internet of things technology to realize the intelligent monitoring and control system of substation.First, this paper reviews the networking background and research status of subject, and explains the content, and then introduces the model and networking problems in power system research, and reviews several key technologies to realize the power of things needed. Finally, the author according to the needs of work and work experience improved on the basis of the existing conventional substation auxiliary control system, put forward the background of Smart Substation Monitoring and auxiliary control system based on the use of networking technology.According to the requirement of intelligent substation "unattended", using networking technology of distributed substation monitoring information collection, centralized management system of networking information unified monitoring and management system, the background in video surveillance and security guards, fire alarm and fire control, online monitoring, transformer respirator leakage monitoring, online SF6 as one of the main functions of temperature monitoring. Through the design of the various subsystems of the program to achieve the complete design of the intelligent monitoring and auxiliary control system, finally in 500 kV to evaluate the intelligent substation auxiliary control system, preliminary requirements of intelligent substation "intelligent monitoring, intelligent judgment, intelligent management, intelligent verification", realize the coordination linkage intelligent substation state monitoring and auxiliary control system requirements.
