The rapid development of global satellite navigation system construction and the continuous improvement, which has greatly promoted the application and popularization of satellite navigation receiver and embedded positioning devices. However, location-based services for the mass consumer market, the excessive power consumption of high-sensitivity satellite navigation positioning chip and terminal, limited its further development and promotion, especially at the platforms of the smart phone, PND, watches, tablet PCs and other devices which are strict with power consumption and used in a huge amount.in view of the high power consumption problem of the satellite navigation receiver, this paper mainly studied from the following three aspects:(1)Firstly, the paper outlined the modern digital navigation receiver basic principle and structure, and then on the basis, analyzed the different parts of the satellite navigation receiver power consumption, the energy consumption in the process of positioning, and the main factors influencing the receiver of high power consumption. For the lack of power model of the receiver, this paper presented the complete power model, which laid a theoretical foundation for subsequent receiver power management.(2)In view of the static power consumption management of satellite navigation receiver, first established the performance evaluation model of static power management technology. To trickle mode,give the model of CNR(Carrier Noise Ratio) and dynamic State changing, analyzes and optimizes the selection of time parameter under the goal of maximization the power saving and without influencing the performance of positioning, and then analyzes the influence of the bandwidth of RF and the threshold of the accuracy to the power saving. then, in view of the shortage of fixed bandwidth cannot banlance the power saving and performance of tracking, proposed an algorithm of lower power multilevel bandwidth tracking loop, the simulation result proved that the method can keep the performance of the tracking, and at the same time control the power consumption of tracking.(3) In view of the disadvantage of lack of flexibility and efficiency to the fixed cycle static power management techniques, this paper proposes an adaptive cycle static power management algorithm, it utilize the speed and CNR to predict the next starting time, so can aviod the frequently positioning and waste more power. through the performance analysis and indoor and outdoor experiments proved that the algorithm can effectively control the power consumption of the receiver 8% than the trickle mode, while positioning performance has not decreased significantly.
