To solve the problem of navigation radar system, this paper first propose new navigation radar design protocol with the combination of the frequency modulated continuous wave(FMCW) system and dual polarization measurement. The system not only inherits the advantages of FMCW radar such as compact structure, high range resolution, low power, no radiation damage and so on, but also makes the radar with dual polarization measurement capability which can improve radar performance index with the polarization information greatly, and has the ability of target recognition.Chapter one describes the background and significance of this research. Then analysis the current navigation radar challenge, and introduces the history of navigation radar progress and current situation, the research status of polarization measurement technique and briefly describes the overall structure of the article and the main content.Chapter two researches the theory of dual polarized FMCW navigation radar and recommends the operating principle of FMCW navigation radar. In order to advance the ranging veracity of the FMCW system, the part presents a triangular spectral line fitting algorithm without increasing the computation complexity. The whole part provides the theory support for the following system parameters analysis and scheme design.Chapter three analyzes the work frequency, polarization mode, detecting inspect and range resolution of the system according to its actual demand; the part designs waveform of the navigation radar from the shape of the waveform, modulation bandwidth and the cycle; and build a complete framework. The whole part provides theoretical support for the realization of system.Chapter four designs the modeling and simulation of dual polarized FMCW navigation radar based on the practical design scheme. The part puts forward a modeling method for reconstruction of FMCW radar. Using this analysis as a foundation, the part established the dual polarized FMCW navigation radar model.Chapter five discusses the design and implementation of high linearity X band FMCW signal source based on HMC703; the part introduces the dual polarized FMCW navigation radar experiment platform briefly with the function verification and result analysis of the real system.Chapter six sums up the main research work and innovation points and talks about the orientation of future research further.
