Technology of mobile communication is in constant change. LTE/EPC network evolved from GPRS has become a recognized evolution direction for the major operators. LTE network combined with wireless communication and the Internet, not only has higher data transmission rate, but also provides more extensive business.As a result, the number of mobile Internet users has a rapid growth, and network traffic explodes to the level of dozens of Gbps.This becomes an unprecedented challenge for operators to analyze user behavior in communication networks.In the face of this challenge, a GTP load balancing system based on multi-core platform is designed and achieved. Firstly, this paper introduces the development background of mobile communication network, state that the traditional network devices can't deal with large flow data, and then a scheme of design and implementation of GTP load balancing system based on multi-core platform is proposed. Then the paper introduces the GTP protocol and two multi-core platforms based on OCTEON and DPDK. After understanding the GTP protocol format and signaling process, the scheme of design and implementation of GTP load balancing system is introduced based on OCTEON network processor platform. It mainly introduces the overall system design module, session correlation analysis, implementation mechanism of line speed forwarding for data, and design of the other sub module. The parsing process of GTP protocol and design of data structure are included in the section of session association analysis. The operation mode, software architecture, mechanism of task scheduling, and design of shared memory based on OCTEON network processor are introduced in the section of implementation mechanism of line speed forwarding for data. Finally, it is verified that the system is effective on high speed and large traffic network data processing, through the test of session correlation function, session integrity, load balancing and throughput, and 10 Gbps throughput has been reached based on the OCTEON multi-core platform. It lays the foundation to analyze the user behavior on the backend devices, and provides idea and solution for the operators to monitor and analyze the network data in the mobile communication network with high speed and heavy traffic.
