More and more mobile terminals have higher demands for speed and reliability of wireless communication, so MIMO technology for its high-speed, high-reliability suit the advantage of the technology of choice for today's wireless communications. However, the conventional MIMO technology has a contradiction between performance and complexity, can not be good for the actual project. Based on this, we propose the MMSE-L-Best algorithm that effectively deal with the contradictions between performance and complexity, and more easily implemented in hardware. In the article, we do depth research on the traditional L-Best algorithm is proposed to improve the MMSE-L-Best algorithm. The algorithm consists of four modules: MMSE module, QR decomposition module, order module, LLR computation module. These four modules we carried out a detailed system design, proposed a complete MMSE-L-Best algorithm implementations. The algorithm performance in a variety of situations simulation, select the optimal pruning strategy, we have the key to the algorithm modules hardware implementation and evaluate resource utilization, in the FPGA, parallel design, pipeline design and other techniques to be further reduced resource consumption.MMSE-L-Best algorithm overcomes the traditional sphere decoding complexity is too high shortcomings, the MMSE algorithm is introduced L-Best algorithm, compromise between performance and complexity, for hardware implementation. The test results show that the algorithm is appropriate to reduce the complexity of decoding the ball while still achieved good performance.
