With the maturity of WiFi technology, people use WiFi to realize the demand of network connection services has increased dramatically and into focus. WiFi technology because of the speed advantages gained popularity, meanwhile, wireless network technologies occurs access bottleneck and safety hazards and interference problem. How to effectively use the wi-fi technology to realize the network connection is becoming a hot spot of research, related research is increasing in recent years. This article on the basis of research results of scholars at home and abroad, starting from WiFi network characteristics,using the current more popular crowdsourcing methods realize the measurement data collection and research.Research on this subject is done on WiFi mobile measurement platform, WiFi mobile measurement platform is a measurement research framework designed for the study of WiFi network characteristics in the process of data collection and processing and analysis,the platform includes Android mobile measurement platform and Cloud data processing platform, Android mobile measurement platform is crowdsourcing tool on the Android operating system developed for the data collection of the experimental process about the scan data of WiFi around the user and the result of connection time measurement and the equipment parameters, provide connectivity services, the display of around WiFi access points distribution using map and other functions, and the tool can automatically upload the measurement data to the cloud. Cloud data processing platform is based on the J2 EE development, mainly to store a lot of experimental data, analyzing data, and then through the interface display, including the original measurement data show and WiFi characteristics statistics show. Finally, the evaluation on the performance of the platform.The study focused on WiFi basic characteristics and the campus WiFi deployment and WiFi access features, the research based on WiFi mobile measurement platform by design experiments, collect data, and then draw conclusions through data processing and analysis.WiFi basic characteristics study found that using the largest number of channels is 1, 6, 11,the AP signal intensity is generally low, through the analysis of the campus WiFi network deployment know that there is dense and sparse unreasonable distribution area, through a single AP access process analysis and the AP access process of mobile situation know that WiFi access experience scanning, authentication, association, handshake, IP acquisition five stages and obtain IP is the longest stage, at the same time through caught packet tool to test the result of the experiment. In the end, some Suggestions on the campus WiFi deployment.
