As a nondestructive scanning imaging technology, since 1972 the first CT machine was born, Industrial CT has been widely used in the production and life.With theprogress of science and society, the ordinary industrial CT can not meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of the workpiece scanning structure,therefore, to researchMicro-focus CTwhich has higher positioning accuracy and precision scaning has become the current urgent demand.According to these requirements, this paper studies the researchof control system which make the NewportXPS as the core controller. Firstly, making the requirements analysis of motion control including ray source control, detector control and power control of Micro-focus CT, and having a selective study about the positionaIaccuracyinstantaneityand synchronization of system.In addition, it carried out a feasibility studies and analysis about the basic functions that datas acquisition, man-machine interface, scanning monitoring, safety interlockd and so on.According to these requirements, this paper studies the researchof control system which make the NewportXPS as the core controller.XPS-Q6 is the core controller of micro-focus CT control system which is a hierarchical and distributed control system. Upper control achieves operational control of the entire control system by using workstation. Operating control software is installed in the workstation. It is faced to the users directly. Parameters set, operating control, data acquisition, image reconstruction can be completed on the basis of the user requirements. The lower controller uses the XPS-Q6 of Newport which is a six-axis controller. They are completed in accordance with the instructions of workstation which are motion control, data sampling control, status queries, safety interlock, power control and so on. Its hardware components include other micro-focus-ray source, detector, precision mechanical system, controllers, computers(including data collection) and image reconstruction and processing subsystem. Software control of workstations and lower computer is completed by C ++ which is a object-oriented programming language in the environment of VS2010. The communication of them is completed by ethernet port.and it uses RS232 serial communication protocol between the radiation source and workstations, and caremaLink connection between the detector and the workstation. Additionally, this article also make the works of measurement and preliminary correction on the random error of linear and rotational movement of the system,for achieving higher precision and higher image quality of the micro-focus CT control system.Finally, making the testof runningand function on the basis of the actual engineering project,show thatit achieves relatively ideal results,and reachs the initial requirements of Micro-focus CT system.
