The Design And Implementation Of Data Management Platform For Commercial Bank

With the rapid development of information technology, data has become core strategic assets of modern banks, and data management process abilities have become more competitive in modern commercial banks. But most of the commercial banks face the problems that they are lacking in data standards. Also, low data quality and low efficiency on metadata management exists. In order to meet the governments' strict requirements of data quality, data standard and data management, setting up a unified data management platform of banks is extremely urgent.In this thesis, firstly, I will introduce the design ideas and data management technology in the field of current commercial banks, and then we will analyze the environment and non-functional requirements of a bank. Finally, we will raise a fresh structure and implementation method of unified data management platform on the basis of requirement analysis which has been tested and applied successfully.The research content of this thesis is a real project which we once participated in. We were responsible for the design to satisfy the demand analysis of a unified data management of commercial banks. We conducted a comprehensive analysis on the bank's data management problems. With the combination of requirements of external supervision and internal management, we can raise a set of solutions and unified data management mechanism with the implement of the data management platform.We established a business bank data standardization system and defined data standardsin the field of business and technology synchronously. At the same time, various business products' metadata were integrated into a single part, sharing metadata management library on the basis of metadata management. Also, we designed the rules of data quality metrics,monitoring and checking the data, analyzing data, establishing knowledge based on data quality to promote it by means of management processing.The data management platform was applied in September, 2014. The result showed that after using the presented data management mechanism online, and the proper use of the data management platform, the enterprise data assets could be effectively managed, enterprise data problem could be found in time. Moreover, data assets can be shared and helped to enhance the level of management, decision making and monitor to submit.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:1) Data management is a complicated work. It needs to consider the management localization, the divisions of responsibilities, working process and system supports,evaluation systems and so on. This thesis raised a comprehensive data management mechanism which combined planning, organization, system with technology assessment factors.2) The data management platform involves three subsystems: metadata management,data standard management and data quality management. The three ones are all essential. But at present, the majority of subjects only give solutions to one of the systems which cannot satisfy the requirements of bank data management. This thesis gives a complete solution and complete implementation of data management platform for banks, focusing on data management of whole life cycle management and completes process in banks.
