The quaternary compounds Cu2ZnSnS4 is known as the a new potential thin-film solar cell absorption layer material. First, copper chloride, zinc chloride, stannous chloride and thiourea is considered as the raw material, we compared the Cu2ZnSnS4 materials synthesized by hydrothermal method, solvothermal method and mixed solvothermal method.Second, synthesis process parameters which has effect on the crystal phase composition and morphology such as volume ratio of solvent, mole ratio of metal ions, temperature and time was investigated respectively by mixed solvothermal method. Research results show that when the raw material in the Cu: Zn: Sn molar ratio of 2:2:1, volume ratio of glycol to water of 1:1, temperature and time of 230 ?and 24 h, the product is pure phase type kesterite Cu2ZnSnS4 spherical microcrystalline materials with good dispersion. Its band gap is 1.5 ev and It is very suitable as a copper-zinc tin sulfide thin film solar cell absorber layer material.
