Linear rotor coil copper is one of the important components of the turbo-generator, shape, changeable shape and size, minimum thickness even less than 1 mm. At present, the quality of copper rotor is detected mainly by manual inspection, with a low efficiency, high precision, data traceability difficulties and other shortcomings. Thus, in this paper we developed the rotor copper key size on-line vision inspection system based on visual inspection technology, realizing the copper rotor self-testing and self-sorting, improving the detection efficiency, solving data management and traceability issues.Based on the analysis to detect rotor copper demand, we determined the performance of copper rotor size detection system, designing the scheme of the system and completing the design and selection of key parts of the system; In the study edge detection operator, edge matching algorithm, we have designed the sub-pixel edge detection model and proposed a kind of size detection algorithm based on cubic polynomial inspection model; In study of edge matching algorithms and sub-pixel edge detection model, we have proposed framework for searching and matching and the size detection algorithm based on matching detection model; on the basis of study of the plug-in type programming framework and hierarchical model, we designed rotor copper key size on-line visual inspection system software architecture, encoding the interface and function of library, programming the rotor copper key size on-line visual inspection system control software.Rotor copper size detection system of experimental results show that the rotor copper key size on-line visual inspection system to implement the rotor copper self-detection and self-sorting, reaching the expected system performance.
