Along with the increasing demand of material and spiritual culture of the people, the forms of the TV programs are becoming more and more diversified. Too meet the needs of the audience, different TV stations began to launch variety of valuable programs like reality shows, talk shows and life service programs and liked by many peoples. As the first television media in XinJiang Uyghur autonomous region, XinJiang TV station and Urumqi TV station also correspondingly launched a new forms of TV columns which brought new colors to the diversity of the TV programs after broadcasting on the Uyghur language channel.In these new columns, a new type of food cooking show has immediately captured many people's attention. Uyghur food is famous for its diversity and high nutritional value in Chinese food categories. Therefore, modern Uyghur food occupies an important position in the domestic and foreign food market. Introducing of the food cooking show in Uyghur language channel, in one aspect, strengthen the service and cultural transmission functions of the Uyghur TV media, on the other hand, serviced the audience in the forms of education. Recently, in order to improve the program`s interest, the producers added new elements like reality show, talent show to the program and improved the audience ratings with the development trend of all flowers blossom together``. Although food cooking show met the needs of the audience to a large extent, however, due to late starting of the show and lack of experience, food mining and production techniques has not been yet reached to the desired results. In this paper, we studied the history and current situation of the Uyghur food cooking show, analyzed its characteristics and present existing problems, and finally put forwarded the future development strategy of the show. This paper is divided into four parts:1. Overview of the Uyghur food cooking show, introduction of the historical and cultural background of the launch of the show, starting point, rise and development processof the show, real examples of the shows which are broadcasting on XinJiang Uyghur channel.2. The current situation of the Uyghur food cooking show. In this part, an example is given to analyze some existing problems in the Uyghur food cooking show.3. The importance of the study of Uyghur food cooking show in thecultural inheritance.4. Research to improve the current existing problems in the show and the future development strategy.
