Portrait cartoon is a popular form of art, which has strong entertainment and good aesthetic. It has wide application value in digital content industry. The most cartoon spell-face softwares are not automated. They require manual interaction,which is time consuming and laborious. The automatic method of cartoon face generation can reduce the interaction, but results in lack of accuracy and beauty. And the further facial animation technology often has the shortcomings of hard to make and unnatural expression.To solve the above problems, this paper studies the the portrait cartoon and facial animation generation, focusing facial features to the cartoon animation automatic generation of a series of related questions, automatic generation of key in the cartoon portrait automatic generation and dynamic expression, real-time avatar animation exhibition open research work and presents some portrait cartoon and animation related innovative technology and methods. The main research results of this paper are as follows:Firstly, this paper introduces a data-driven cartoon portrait automatic synthesis method. We build cartoon component material database and large-scale face database.The relationship of real face components and cartoon components are annotated manually. Then we use the method of facial feature match to generate the cartoon portrait. Compared to the traditional line style of portrait cartoon generation method,the results of this method has a stronger cartoon style rather than the sketch style,and ensure the beauty. The method also has a strong expansibility, and can the generate multi-style portrait cartoon by changing the cartoon component style.Secondly, a method of constructing 2.5D facial cartoon model is proposed, and a dynamic facial expression automatic generation system is realized by the combination of the automatic generation technology of the cartoon. The system established a universal cartoon component 2.5D face model, We use the free form deformation method to deform the cartoon-organ components, which makes a Bezier surface control the pivot points of the organ component. We use some parameters which are based on Action Units(AUs) in FACS to map the key frames of the expression, and finally use the OpenGL rendering the dynamic facial animation. This greatly reduces the cost of editing expression animation, but also have a strong interest.Lastly, to achieve based on monocular ordinary camera real-time 2.5D facial cartoon avatar animation generation system, the system through face tracking to obtain the real-time information about the location of the face, two modules is estimated through the pose estimation and expression to determine cartoon model of control parameters, and use of these parameters to drive the 2.5D cartoon model ofreal-time animation. Experiments show that the system is simple and convenient, can only use 2D cartoon images to generate 2.5D cartoon face Avatar real-time animation, in the field of film production, entertainment and other fields have a wide range of applications.
