With the increasing of the warehouse jobs, the traditional warehouse management mode can not adapt to the workload of the warehouse, the development of computer and database technology for modern warehouse management to provide a technical basis. Intelligent warehouse management as a new technology, the database with image word processing technology, enables efficient management.This paper is mainly to accomplish the character-recognition algorithm in the warehouse management system, which has the function of timely converting the characters on the warehouse goods containers into words processed by computer. This paper consists of two parts, namely the recognition of characters on goods containers and the designer of the database, while the former is the key research content. Due to the age of the goods containers, there are oil contamination and wear marks on the surface which will affect the efficiency of character recognition. Therefore, the goods containers must be processed specifically, and then effective recognition algorithm can be taken. More specific work of this paper is as follows:(1)Based on theoretical knowledge of image processing, take the ways of characters preprocessing pointedly, including binarization, tilt correction, homomorphic filtering, morphological processing.(2)Use the gray projection and the projection dichotomy in connected region to achieve better effects when segmenting character, and use the centroid match, Hilditch refinement to Unicode standard normalized character(3)Extract the gray feature and the geometric outlines of characters effectively, use the multi-template matching recognition technology to improve the character accuracy to 80%, and then apply character recognition algorithms into the database system.This paper accomplished the goods containers' character recognition algorithms in the QT software platform, and applied into the warehouse management system. This research meets the basic needs for real-time identification of the goods warehouse management, and can easy to add, delete the information of the warehouse goods, and the system is data stability, and portable to operate.
