With the rapid development of cultural industry in China, lots of new theaters have been built in China large-sized and medium-sized cities. The performance activities are booming as well. The theatre business mode is cha nging also, which is from the stage-rental to drama-purchasing and box-office-sharing with actors. Therefore, the old ticketing system of theaters, which depends on the third-party's system to sell tickets, can't meet their needs any more. They need a new ticketing system, which belongs to theaters themselves, and can help theaters to gather customers' data and tickets' data, and improve their marketing capabilities, customers' relationship, and business as well.This paper is about the requirement analysis, the system design, the system implementation, and the system test of Damai Business & Operation Support System For Grand Theatre. This system is developed with B/S and C/S, and based on Thrift and Spring of J2 EE construction. According to theatre demands, this system was developed with four modules, production management, operation management, store selling, and system management. With several sub modules like venue management, seats management, performance management and drama-session management, the production management can show a graphical seats-map, and produce tickets for each drama session. The operation management can show the on-playing dramas, decide ticket sales channel, design promotion plan, and lock ticket sales. It can help theater to have a precise control of ticket sales. The store selling system can sell ticket, refund ticket, reprint ticket with a graphical seat selection approach. The system management can set access rights on the basis of user authorities, and make full log records. The system runs on Internet, with good scalability and security. The whole system is deployed with Linux operating system, and based on Nginx and Tomcat.The system described in this paper has been completed with full of functions. It is easy to use and expand in function. Lots of big theaters have been running this system to sell tickets, which is stable and reliable. It helps large theaters to solve the real problems and achieve the design goals. I hope it can provide a reference for the construction of similar systems.
