"Under The Dome":A Case Study Of Journalistic Professionalism Practice

This study is based on the background of new media environment,and through the way of case analysis and text analysis to explores the Journalistic professionalism practice form “Under the dome” which is a typical case of new media products.First,this research combs the social background of the journalistic professionalism's rising in the western society represented by America, the growing process, and the historical process of impact. Besides, the research describes the practice course of localization about the journalistic professionalism in China.Through the detailed historical data analysis and literature review, The research thinks that journalistic professionalism is a kind of news ethics and professional ideas which regards the pursuit of freedom of the press and providing real objective news reports as responsibility,and insists the independent report and social responsibility. The further study thinks "authenticity", "objectivity", "independence", "freedom" and "social responsibility" are the key words of "professional" about news professionalism.By the in-depth discussion, the research suggests that “under the dome"basically reflects the authenticity of news professionalism,but the authenticity can be more perfect and has space to improve. In terms of objectivity,“under the dome"reflects more questions,and research also points out that the runaway of objectivity worth industry and academic circles thinking deeply. In addition, the study found that“Under the dome” which is one of the typical cases of new media products makes a breakthrough on the independence of journalistic professionalism and has a positive significance, but the situation is still not enough to make people blind optimism. In the field of the press freedom, “under the dome" has an excellent performance in from of the political and commercial force, and expresses personal real views, but “under the dome" still face the failure in the free spread level. what's more, the research suggests that leaving the system control also means that there is no the constraint rules. How to prevent the invasion of commercial capital and the freedom of out of control is also a problem that cannot be ignored. At the same time, in the aspect ofsocial responsibility,the study thinks that “under the dome" completes the enlightenment of public environmental consciousness, and also makes use of thinking in the Internet successfully to provide another possibility for the development of journalism. It overturns the traditional view that new media is not suitable for in-depth reporting and the serious news spreading, and carries the banner of the "hard news" In the years of entertainment to death.Finally, the study says that “under the dome" raises new questions and thinking of the development about journalistic professionalism in the new media age, and has a positive significance and an active promotion. Under the new media environment,new media products are not the terminator of journalistic professionalism. It found some breakthrough and larger space for the survival of journalistic professionalism,and maybe it is a new opportunity in the development of journalistic professionalism.
