With the rapid development of Internet of things, M2M(Machine to Machine) network as the core field in internet of things is growing rapidly. Nowadays M2M network is used in all works of life and provides integraded solutions in the aspect of date collection, transmission, analysis and business management. Most of terminal nodes in M2M network which like smart home use more battery rather than a wiring way to achieve energy supply. With the progress of circuit technology, the power of processor and sensor module in the terminal nodes become very low, the most energy consumptionin is mainly gathered in wireless communication module, and that makes the research of energy consumption balance in wireless communication module has great significance.For the situation of energy consumption unbalanced of nodes in M2M network, this thesis presents two relevant algorithms, one is channel contention based on weight assignment algorithm and another is channel contention based on backoff window assignment algorithm. Channel contention based on weight assignment algorithm by giving part of the high energy consumption nodes assign high weight to achieve high energy consumption nodes prior to get channel, and thus reduce the data communication energy consumption of nodes which have high energy consumption in the M2M network, to extend the life cycle of high consumption nodes in M2M network. Channel contention based on backoff window assignment algorithm by giving high energy consumption a smaller value of backoff window to achieve high energy consumption nodes have higher probability than other nodes to get channel, and thus extend the life cycle of high consumption nodes.Algorithms presented in this thesis are based on CSMA/CA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) protocol, the algorithms aim to actieve a balanced energy consumption of nodes in M2M network. Algorithms are presented in this thesis can be applied to M2M network which have an unbalanced energy consumption of nodes. This thesis by making a mathematical model analyzes the feasibility of the presented algorithms to extend the life cycle of nodes which have a high energy consumption in M2M network, and also through NS2(Network Simulator version 2) simulation software to calculate algorithms in this thesis for simulation analysis. The simulation results show that algorithms that present in this thesis can achieve the balance of energy consumption of nodes in M2M network.
