| The accurate measurement of fuel level is crucial to the development of Aeronautics,ship navigation and transportation.The fuel level in bunkers which serve for transfer orbital control,attitude adjustment and returning function demands a higher accuracy.A fuel Level sensor with the Principle of Cross Capacitance was advanced researched to overcome the capillarity and the error due to machining and assembly in traditional capacitance level sensor.The main contents are as follows:(1)A single-tube cross capacitance fuel level sensor was designed.The paper improved the transducer structure,modified the theoretical characteristic,get correction factors in different mediums.A fuel level measurement model was presented and a measuring formulas was obtained.The measurement equation proved the feasibility of the method in theory.(2)At the beginning,technical specifications of the sensor were proposed.With in-depth research on the principle,a new structure of cross capacitance was designed and modified for the fuel level sensor which is pre-researched.The paper proposed a rationally single-tube sensor structure design to elimination error sources,which maintaining the advantage of traditional sensors.(3)Sensing performance test was conceived,experimental apparatuses were built,the static parameters were calibrated,and the relationship between the output capacitance and the variable fuel level was analyzed.In addition,the level measurement equation of the cross capacitance was modified on the basis of the measured value.The modification factor K was introduced to optimized the computing model.This paper will not only take on active meanings for fuel level measurement,but also explore new applications for the principle of cross capacitance. |
