Flowing the rapid development of a wide range of applications and the advent of computers, information technology and the printing industry, halftone technology has gone beyond the traditional analog screening, into a new field-digital halftone technique. Application of digital halftone technology more widely, research and development of digital halftone technology has a profound impact for national development of our country. Traditional digital halftone technology, computing capacity, computational complexity, a lot of arithmetic median large memory, and slow speed, taking long user waiting time to wait, image looks better significantly after screening. Based thought preset library screening, the preset library hybrid screening algorithm, taking up less storage space because it use simple logic calculation instead of complex calculations, you do screening before the premise,it has a good quality assurance, improves screening efficiency, and the screening image looks better.This paper analyzed the characteristics of traditional screening algorithm, the basic principles of AM screening, FM screening and hybrid screening as well as having studied the advantages and disadvantages of FM screening technology in the Bayer dithering algorithm and Floyd-Steinberg error diffusion algorithm. Then researched on preset image library screening method and preset function library screening algorithm, based on the Microsoft Visual VC++6.0 platform simulate with C programming language, according to the simulation results of pre-image library to analysis its advantages and disadvantages. The discussion focused on the Preset Library hybrid screening algorithms. Introduced the basic principle of this algorithm and implementation steps detailed, and used C programing language simulate. According to the simulation results to discuss and analyze. At last use five kinds of screening algorithms to process the same size standard picture, as well as different sizes of image processed by hybrid preset library screening algorithm and analysis.
