UHF(Ultra High Frequency) partial discharge detection method for its high sensitivity and ease of fault location are widely used in GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) on-line monitoring. UHF PD(Partial Discharge) sensor design research has important theoretical significance and practical value for the development of GIS PD detection technology.For the narrowband sensor cannot receive enough PD signal information and the broadband sensors sensor are easily infect by external interference. This paper proposed a multi-channel narrowband UHF PD sensor design method combines the advantages of narrowband and broadband sensors. A group of narrowband filter put through multi-channel sensors to receive PD signal,so that, broadband spectral components is received, this method effectively improve the detection SNR and obtain a more comprehensive PD signal characteristics. This paper designed a group of multi-channel narrow-band filter, low noise amplifier matching circuit, established discharge simulation environment, measured multi-channel UHF PD sensor SNR and compared the results with broadband sensor and ultrasonic sensor. The results show that this design can effectively improve the system SNR.The main work is as follows:(1) The interference signal spectrum distribution in PD detection site was analyzed, to determine the sensor for each channel center frequency and bandwidth.(2) Used ADS simulation software, designed a group of interdigital microstrip BPF. The filters have different center frequencies and different bandwidths.(3) Made and tested multi-channel filter performance parameters, such as: center frequency, bandwidth, rectangular coefficient, pass-band ripple, pass-band loss, and compared with the simulation results to verify the performance of the simulation filters.(4) Built a simulated test environment, tested each broadband sensor SNR of the received signal which accessed different bandwidths filter, Then made a comparative analysis.
