All fiber real-time laser wavelength measurement method based on Faraday rotation effect is studied in this paper.Firstly,we introduce three widely used laser wavelength measurement instruments,such as Michelson interferometers,Fizeau interferometers and Fabry–Pérot interferometers.However,those devices all need a reference laser and have high-cost,besides,real-time or fast wavelength measurement are limited in these systems.Next,we introduce al fiber real-time laser wavelength measurement method based on Faraday rotation effect.We get high wavelength measurement precision by introducing a temperature system to control the device temperature,then an optical film coating filter is applied to expand the measurement range of the whole system.This new method have the advantages of very low-cost,compact size,simple structure and the capability of fast measurements,which have great significant in the fields of laser wavelength calibration,optical fiber sensing,real-time wavelength monitoring of tunable laser and optical communication.The main research contents include:1.Laser wavelength measurement method is firstly introduced,and the important applications in the fields of laser wavelength calibration,optical fiber sensing,real-time wavelength monitoring of tunable laser and optical communication is discussed.Then we introduce three widely used laser wavelength measurement instruments and analyze its advantages and shortcomings.2.The principle of all fiber real-time laser wavelength measurement method based on Faraday rotation effect is introduced,we analyze the thesis from the follow three aspects: Faraday rotation effect,wavelength dispersion and Verdet constant,then the relationship between Faraday rotation angle and laser wavelength ?temperature and medium is summarized.3.The structure,working principle and important parameters of the essential device is introduced,especially,the core device is described in detail.Then the Virtual Instrument(VI)is introduced,including the procedure frame and its function.At last,we proposed the all fiber real-time laser wavelength measurement method based on Faraday rotation effect.The hardware,software of the system is build up.4.Performance test of wavelength measurement system is carried out,the detailed contents are as follows: the linearity and the stability of optical film coating filter,the real-time and fast wavelength,finally,we measure the effect of temperature on error by controlling the temperature system.
