In order to improve the navigation performance of intergrated navigation system and aiming at the shortcomings of atmospheric polarization navigation at present, an autonomous integrated navigation model based on polarization neutral points, electromagnetic log and inertial components is put forward. The model improves its Attitude accuracy by measuring the polarization performance of the whole sky. It not only gets the information of attitude using the relation of the atmosphere polarization neturial points and sun's position but also measure speed and positon information by electromagnetic log.Atmospheric polarization neutral point is one of the most important characteristics of atmospheric polarization pattern. The scientific research shows that some insects use atmospheric polarization pattern for navigation orientation. And the polarization netural points contains important location information as the one of the most important characteristics of atmospheric polarization pattern.Based on the theory of the polarization properties of the light from the sun, The review elaborates the atmospheric polarization modeling research history and the research status both at home and abroad. The article explaines the characteristics of pilarized light and the formation mechanism of the polarization netural points.The article focuses on the horizon atmosphere polarization pattern,as well as atmospheric plarization, and the motion law of neutral points and distribution characteristics. The research analyses atmospheric polarization of neutral point detection identification methods which are the recognition method based on the intersection features of the netural lines and the recognition method based on the distribution characteristics of the degree of polarization. Based on the the motion law of neutral points and distribution characteristics, a method was put forward which use the “two points olny one line” principle to determine the location of the sun's meridian. Then we can measure informationof course angle using the the solar calendar that we write.At last, combining with integrated navigation system features, the review put forward an autonomous integrated navigation model based on polarization neutral points, electromagnetic log and inertial components. The integrated navigation system uses kalman filter for the information fusion. The matlab simulation results show that the integrated navigation system not only could correct INS navigation parameters error effectively which the error of heading angle and enhance the autonomous navigation performance of ships but also has a high degree of concealment and anti-jamming capability.
