The integrated navigation can improve the accuracy and reliability of navigation system through fusing the information from different navigation systems. Different navigation methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, we can achieve good complementarity by combined two or more different navigation methods with each other. At present, the navigation system based on GPS and SINS is high-profile.Both of these technologies are maturity and used widely. We can figure out that these two navigation systems are strong complementary from the characteristic they owned.Geographic Information System(GIS) is a kind of computer system which is used to adopt, store, manage, search, analysis and express the geographic information. What the advantage of this system is its ability to comprehense, simulate, analysis, evaluate and predict the geographic data. The functions of GIS system are depends on the informations of location and the integrated navegation technology can serve the location information which is more accurate. To combine the GIS technology and the integrated navegation technology,we can achieve the function of location. The design on these tow points above get three achievements blew:1.The integration and principle of inertial navigation and satellite navigation have been briefly introduced. The advantages of applying integrated navigation technology and the reasons why SINS/GPS integration are used have been analyzed mainly. Secondly, different combination methods are studied, advantages and disadvantages as to different combination methods have been analyzed, and the corresponding principles have also been elaborated. The information fusion technology which is the most important part of the integrated navigation has been introduced in detail, and the integration of navigation data have been achieved through Kalman filtering technique.2.Embedded compiling platform based on LINUX operating system have been created, the hardware devices chosen have been introduced, and the block diagram as to the overall structure of the entire system has been drawn. Solution has been provided as to communication problem of serial between embedded development board and the GPS receiving set, the method of serial port settings has been introduced, and the acquisition of GPS data are completed.3.As to software, the conversion from latitude and longitude coordinates to Cartesian coordinates has been achieved through programming. The reading, organization and drawing of the map data to Maplnfo has been finished by the use of drawing mechanism based on language and QT C ++. Simple software interaction has been compiled. In addition, solutions as to the core application of GIS, as well as route searching and planning have been provided. Principles as to A* search algorithm and programming to achieve A* search algorithm have also been introduced. From the final practice, it can be proved that the system is stable and reliable, with good effect, and the most basic functions of GIS can also be achieved. Thus, it can be indicated that there is the effectiveness and accuracy as to the design method.
