The stereoscopic image displayed by solid-state volumetric true-3D display system has both psychological and physical depth of field and can be seen widely without wearing any equipment. The effect is so good that it can be used whether in the military field,the medical field or the civilian field in the future.This thesis introduces some common stereoscopic display technologies and makes a comparison between the solid-state volumetric true-3D display technology and other stereoscopic display technologies. With the introduction of status quo of the solid-state volumetric true-3D display technology, the thesis gives the purpose and signification on this subject. Then the thesis presents the theory and the architecture of the solid-state volumetric true-3D display system, which paves the way for the image algorithm. Followed by that, the thesis gives detail description of the system image algorithm. It consists the video driver, the display-body driver and the gray correction. And then the thesis introduces the implementation of the image algorithm, including hardware platforms and software architecture. Lastly, this thesis gives verification of the image algorithm. The results show that the image system implements the algorithm correctly and can display stereoscopic image with high quality.This thesis focuses on the display defects in depth discontinuity,flicker and color distortion happened in early system. It makes theoretical research on them and optimizes the image algorithm. To solve the defect of depth discontinuity,depth anti-aliasing method based on classified mapping has been raised. To solve the problem of flicker, a new way to drive the display-body has been used. Also, the gray correction has been used to eliminate the color distortion. The effects verification shows that the optimized algorithm can solve these defects effectively and improve the effect of stereoscopic display greatly.
