Laser diodes(LD) are used extensively in fiber lasers as pump sources. The operating characteristic of laser diodes determines a requirement of constant current regulation, high stability and high current in the drive circuit. This paper gives a design of dual constant current source aiming at the drive circuit of two fiber laser pump sources with 10 and 30 volt power supply. As the similar foreign products are expensive, so the design of a dual output, stable performance, perfect protection and low cost laser constant current source driving has certain practical significance and great research value.This paper will combine the use of digital signal processor DSP technology,constant current source technology, LED display technology, the rotary coding switch modulation technology to put forward the innovative design method of switched-type constant current source used in medium and small power semiconductor laser. In this paper, the design scheme adopts the synchronous BUCK topology, corresponding controller to improve the structure of CCS as well as its characteristics. Besides, the DSP is used to contact with computer, to monitor and control CCS in real-time. In addition, effective measures were adopted to realize the soft start and to avoid inrush current etc. High precision sampling resistance was used on the output current sampling. The digital module based on DSP can be achieved on the current regulation,overheat protection, and the host computer information interaction, AD sampling and display functions. The LD supply can realize semiconductor and also can realize the over current and overheat protection. Through repeated experimental debugging,experimental results show that this CCS has the satisfying performance of high-stability, fast dynamic response, small current ripple, wide adjusting range,high-output capacity etc. With a compact structure resulting in high overall power density, this CCS can be applied to real industry fields as well.
