With the rapid development of virtual reality technology, virtual group behavior simulation technology has a wide range of applications in the public safety, film and animation, military training, and urban city planning. The storyboard as an interactive browsing tool has also been widely used in films and television production, theater, comics and commercial fields. To make more efficient, more realistic simulation of group behavior animation, we use the simulation scenario information required in storyboards, group positions and routes information, as basis for simulating group behaviors. We take high-speed rail station disaster evacuation as the background, combined with social force based disaster evacuation model, to achieve a virtual group behavior simulation system.The rest of this paper contains:1. Use the combination of global path planning and local path planning to gain the group path. Abstract scene information from Revit and store it to the storyboard. And based on this information which provides the motion range and obstacles within the range, we decide the global path. Sparse A* algorithm has been improved to implement the global path, group information including group positions, motion paths, and personalities are stored in the storyboard at the same time.2. Analyze evacuation model based on social forces. To avoid crowded situations occurred during the evacuation, split them into small groups based on personalities, each group decide its own path independently and members within groups keep a relative stable distance with each other while escaping.3. We import motion paths and station information into groups in 3D simulation system, combine with real-time collision detection algorithm to achieve the simulation of a disaster evacuation. In this paper, we implement the simulation system using Virtools and Visual Studio 2010, and build up scene using Revit. This system provides functions including storyboard importation and exportation, group motion behavior control and etc.
