Single-Dome system in recent years is the rise of a projection technology. Based on a large solid angle of viewing dome and multimedia technology, that enables the screen viewing angle, high resolution, strong sense of immersion, etc. That brought users an impressive viewing experience. It can be applied in the fields of science, education, entertainment, simulation, remote control, urban planning, etc. Moreover, single-dome projection system with low system cost, simple structure, portability, and have broad business outlook.Less domestic research found in this field. Compared to the large dome system, single-dome projection system has two main design difficulties:Large field close to a small projection dome display imaging and 180° horizontal field of view. Through theoretical research single dome projection system is proposed to achieve dome projection system from the light path optimization miniaturization. According to the proposed design goals:180° horizontal field of view,100° vertical field of view, the resolution is not higher than 3arcmin/pixels, pixel distribution. In this paper, respectively, front and rear projection screen system has two kinds of spherically analysis.For rear dome system, in order to clear the first column shaped screen screen-based parameters, and set a reasonable number of channels and the position of the projector according to the audit objectives. Accordingly, the two-dimensional geometry of the calculated structural parameters obtained projection mirror surface. According to the existing parameters, three-dimensional modeling software and TracePro are used to model and simulate to make the design rationality.Redesigned structural model for ordinary front projection system(100° vertical field of view). The same way of the optical design and simulation is used to design the front projection system. Preliminary locked system parameters. According to simulated parameter calculate processing free-form surface mirror and reception screen. Build a positive pitching screen test systems and performance testing. Separately from the image sharpness, brightness and contrast of the three aspects of the projection system performance was evaluated. Objective and subjective evaluation of two ways are used for image quality evaluation. Objective evaluation of the optical transfer function obtains a cut-off frequency of about 371p/mm. And make a subjective image quality evaluation based on the characteristics of the human eye. Tested projected image screen illuminance can be achieved 746.441ux, contrast ratio of 382:1.Further, the large viewing angle greater sense of immersion circumstances (180° horizontal field of view,100° vertical field of view). By calculating the simulation shows the structure of the program double freeform reflector system.In summary, in this paper, single-dome projection system is given by way of two typical system designs, build and test a reflective system. The results showed that the use of single-dome projection system accomplish the imaging in close distance, synchronously, the imaging range of uniform amplification and simplifies the system structure, reducing system cost to complete the design purpose, meet the design requirements.
