Gradient mesh is a kind of powerful vector graphics representation, which contains position, color and gradient of grid points. The information including color and gradient of each point is determined by controlling the Ferguson patch. Therefore, gradient mesh keeps the color transition smoothly and naturally, and doesn't lose any details when blowing up the image. Besides, gradient mesh takes less the storage space than that of rasterized image and is easy to reuse in most cases. However, editing a picture of gradient mesh can be highly labor intensity, also takes a lot of time. Based on this situation, we develop an interactive recoloring method of gradient mesh in this paper. In particular, users could firstly select their desirable colors and annotate on the gradient mesh with multiple scribbles, then our method would build a control net through original gradient mesh as well as determining the scribble points. After recoloring on the control net, the result gradient mesh would be reconstructed by recolored control net. Compared with previous work, our method deal with gradient mesh directly instead of rasterized image. In addition, we allow users to choose their desirable color scheme but not introducing a reference image.Based on this approach, we also present a user friendly tool of gradient mesh recoloring, which is integrated with some other recoloring methods. We performed several groups of experiments, which demonstrate that our method is effective and reasonable.
