Design And Implementation Of NDN Forwardering Strategy Based On Neighbor-Aware In MANET

Named Data Network (NDN) is a future Internet architecture, NDN forwarding strategy is a hot research topic in MANET. At present, there are two categories of forwarding strategies in NDN. One category is the blind forwarding, the other category is the aware forwarding. Blind forwarding strategy may fail for the interruptions of the path that are caused by the mobility of nodes; Greedy forwarding strategy may increase the node cache overhead, because every node caches all packets received.The work of this thesis is to solve the insufficient of those two above-mentioned forwarding strategies, by proposing NDN Forwarding Strategy Based on Neighbor-aware in MANET, while considering neighbor node timeliness connection and restrictions of the memory of portable devices. The main design idea of this thesis is:firstly, the node maintains the neighbor information and the requisition information of neighbor nodes. In the phase of packet arrivals, in order to improve satisfaction ratio, node specifies the next-hop node; meanwhile, in order to reduce packet loss rate, node assists the previous-hop node to forward packet to the specific node; finally, in order to reduce the memory consumption of node, only the neighbor nodes of requesting node and publishing node cache data packet received. Compared with the two forwarding strategies, this strategy is designed to improve the satisfaction ratio while reducing overhead.Compared with the two forwarding strategies, the results of simulate conducted in ndnSIM show that the forwarding strategy based on neighbor-aware can improve satisfaction ratio by using a small cache with high node density.
