As the development of virtual reality technology,the research and application on terrain visualization becomes important for the virtual simulation system.Currently variable terrain modeling method that combines the explosion properties can be divided into physical simulation modeling method and numerical simulation method.The numerical simulation method has high accuracy of mesh displacement position,while the complex equations and constraints are more difficult to solve.The physical modeling method mainly takes fluid mechanics and particle systems that user-friendly handling and good interaction.But it lacks of scientific research on actual explosion.Therefore,the dynamic visualization based on physical terrain explosion models faced with real-time,interactive and high-precision multiple technological breakthroughs.To build real-time terrain modeling method with physical attributes.The basic work is dynamic terrain modeling,to improve rendering efficiency.The import work is combine crater model and terrain model with a deformation area extend method.First,in order to keep the dynamic terrain visualization roaming frame rate,we need to improve the render efficiency of terrain mesh.Based on the preliminary work,we build an multi-resolution terrain model.The algorithm combines the advantages of LOD(Level Of Detail)algorithm and Geomipmapping algorithm that adaptive determine the different regional error evaluation,to improve the efficiency of the grid subdivision.It is good for regular grid terrain data.To express the details of bombings,we take full resolution mesh in deformation area.We propose a deformation area extend algorithm.To comput project mapping relation between crater position and terrain positon according to the effective grid and active state.Updating the implicit state hierarchy active point to keep the grid vertex space continuity..In virtual simulation system,the bombings will immediately change the terrain surface mesh topology,to describe the terrain deformation visualization,we propose a physical properties crater model.According to bomb explosion generated,it include explosion cavity,broken area,radial crack zone and elastic deformation area.For the actual effect of explosion,we propose symmetric and asymmetric structure crater model.To simulate rock broken zone effect,we propose a disturbance factor evaluation algorithm to control the broken fragment size.Finally,we take the user-defined grayscale build radial crack zone,enhance the explosion visual effect.
