Because of the remote location of the astronauts will face a variety of adverse factors influence weightlessness, vacuum, special light environment, strong cosmic radiation, low temperature, system delay and other adverse factors.Space teleoperation will be a challenging task,The remote environment cognitive and task performance of the operator will be affected by a certain impact.Understanding how the operator and space robot effectively work together, and to maximize the performance and increase the success rate of the task will be the focus of future research in human-machine interaction.Space robot teleoperation is a typical space mission, operator is the initiative part of human-machine interactive, especially under extreme conditions, the spatial cognitive ability of the individual will bound to have an impact on the teleoperation. In this study,we select the typical spatial cognitive ability that is mental rotation and spatial orientation, select the appropriate performance indicators for the typical characteristics of space teleoperation, measure the subjects of spatial cognition by psychological measurement system, subjects completed the experiment through a virtual teleoperation platform. We analysis the impacts between spatial ability and performance, and analysis the impacts of the interaction between task types and three dimensional mental rotation and spatial orientation ability. The results show that:(1)There is no significant impact between two-dimensional mental rotation ability and performance data of space manipulator teleoperation.(2)There are significant impacts between three-dimensional mental rotation ability and simulation time, the efficiency of arm's move, total amount of posture handle operation. There are no significant impacts between three-dimensional mental rotation ability and joint angle limitation.(3)There are significant impacts between spatial orientation and simulation time, total amount of posture handle operation.(4)The three-dimensional mental rotation ability can be used to predict the simulation time, the end of the efficiency movement gesture and handle the total amount of the operation performance, and can be constructed regression model, spatial orientation ability can be used to predict simulation time and attitude the operating handle of the total performance predictor variables, and can be constructed to regression model, which can provide the basis of quantitative analysis for the selection of similar operations operator. It is important to understand how the operator and robot or manipulator can work together effectively to maximize the performance and operating performance and to increase the success rate of task, and it will be the focus of future human-computer interaction research. In this study,we select Space Station Remote Manipulator operation simulation as a typical remote operation task, the generalization and abstraction task settings make the task of having a universal characteristic.besides, the selection of personnel is relatively easy to operate andhas high efficiency.According to the effect of mental rotation and spatial orientation ability on the typical performance data in remote operation process, can give advise to the purpose of teleoperation targeted personnel selection to the future engineering.
