Medical image fusion is common in medical imaging diagnosis way, to ensure clinical gain more specific and real i mage information, can m ore accurately determine the pa tient's condition. At presen t, all kinds of advanced imaging equipment makes medical modernization to perfect implementation, for the clinical diagnosis system provides a comprehensive service, but because of the imaging device itself factors, the d evice itself can p resent there are m any differences between the imaging effect, which in turn cause defects. In this paper, the wavelet transform of the image fusion technology applied in medical image, fully adjust the complementary information of the image, make the detail of the image can perform better, the paper based on the study of image fusion, respectively based on wavelet transform and w avelet and Contourlet transfor m on medical image fusion.First of all, the paper re search background and research purpose has carried on the brief descript ion, through the image fusion te chnology in the field of military, remote sensing areas and m edical application of detailed analysis, explains the application in m edical clinical diagnostic significance of im age fusion technology.Secondly, this paper intro duces the application of the concepts involved in image fusion and the theory of knowledge, the brief analysis of the comm only used method of im age fusion, and the concept of medical image and its development course has carr ied on th e detailed instructions, laid a the oretical foundation for the research of the paper.Again, on the basis of im age fusion scheme design, the paper select three different to the tr aditional image fusion methods for fusion experim ents, a wavelet transform method, Laplacian pyramidal decomposition method and the weighted average method; The image decomposition by four layers, under the premise that take larger data rules of absolute value of pixels, fusion using high frequency coefficient. In this paper, three methods in MATLAB platform for the integration experiment, through the subjec tive evaluation and objective evaluation, points out the te chnical specifications of the traditional wavelet transform in image fusion effect is better.Finally, the paper analyses the defect of wa velet transform, in order to guarantee high dimensional image effective fusion, in the medical image fusion experiments used the wave let and Contourlet transf orm method, high frequency component of the fusion rule s of maximum selection coefficient, low frequency components are selected re gion variance fusi on processing, in the form of simulation experiment is made on the resp ective target image fusion. The experimental results show that, im age fusion based on wavele t and Contourlet transform of medical imaging, can get more accurate image visual effect.
